A Bit About Me
Raina is a counsellor with a background in social work who specializes in working with military personnel, healthcare workers, first responders, and adults facing various life challenges. She has supported various walks of life including children and teens, adults and families. She has worked with issues related to substance use, child welfare issues, homelessness, poverty, racism, disability and various mental health conditions. Raina has honed her expertise in helping individuals navigate the complexities of mental health, stress, trauma and physical wellness, especially in high-pressure environments and dysfunctional family settings.

She is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Narrative Therapy (NT). Raina uses strengths-based and humanistic approaches to help her clients build resilience, achieve their goals, improve emotional regulation, tolerate and cope with stress, and improve interpersonal skills to address underlying issues such as anxiety, depression, and PTSD. Her personal experience working in healthcare and within a military environment has allowed deep understanding of issues that affect healthcare workers, and military/veteran populations. She also has a passion for supporting individuals to understand and work through family dynamics, both current and historical. Raina’s hope is to help you improve your self-image, judgement and gain confidence in yourself so that you feel empowered to find solutions to your problems. Many individuals feel isolated and misunderstood in their struggles, and her work focuses on supporting you to strengthen your voice and finding your trusted tribe.

Raina also provides nature therapy to those located in Victoria, B.C. It is a unique blend of traditional counselling, with the co-facilitation of nature and outdoor spaces. For some, counselling can add to more anxiety. With the addition of nature, it alleviates the pressure by supporting you to connect with both your mind, and body, and focusing on your wellness as you are mindfully present and integrated with the outdoors.
